Purple or violet is not seen commonly in todays homes, it is a color which suggests royalty and spirituality, so perhaps it can be a bit intimidating around the house.

However, we do use it in different forms.  By adding white, we create a tint of purple and these colors are known as mauves, lilacs and lavenders.  These softer, more restful versions of purple are used in our homes, especially in bedrooms and bathrooms as they promote day dreaming and inner calmness.

Fresh flowers are a wonderful addition to any home and add color and style to a room.  To keep them living longer, add an aspirin to the water.  Another alternative is a few drops of bleach and a teaspoon of sugar.  Make sure that you remove any leafy material that may reside in the water of the vase as this will go slimy.  Change the water every three days.  Asian decorating is becoming more popular in the western world, we love it's simplicity and it's subtle use of local materials
like bamboo and silk. The silk fabrics are rich and opulent and
tell a story on their own, the highly glossy lacquered furniture
appears sleek with simple lines and is always functional.

Canopy beds add romance and spice to your bedroom.
Often in interior design we look to have a quick makeover of
a room and the bedroom is no exception.

Using a canopy bed is effective and looks professional without
costing a fortune.

Spruce up you rooms from season to season, change the colors or accessories to suit the climate or seasonal theme. This can be done using cushions, throws, vases and flowers, pictures and decorative pieces of artwork or ceramics.

Cork is a natural product that comes from the bark of the evergreen oak.  It is most commonly available in tiles.  It is warm underfoot and provides natural beauty to a room.  It is an economical product to purchase and many DIY home handymen can lay it.

It is often used for home renovation.  It is wonderful if you are prone to dropping things, as it is soft and the cork softens the fall, saving you money on glasses and crockery!

What kitchen style suits you?  The first consideration, whether remodeling your existing house or starting out with a new home, is the current style of your home and furnishings.  The kitchen is often placed centrally in the home and therefore visible from most rooms.  The decoration and style should flow harmoniously throughout.
