The family is so important.  In the world we live in today, the family has lost a lot.  Families aren't as close knit as they used to be.  Family time has been replaced with TV, video games, Ipods, etc.  We need to get back to the concept of "the family" being the core of our society. Here are two simple things to ponder and remember: 1- "The family that plays together, stays together."  This is so true.  Get together with your family at least once a week to play games and enjoy each others company.  Plan family vacations where you can all be together in a relaxed environment.  How many kids nowadays actually know their cousins and enjoy spending time with them? 2- "The family that prays together, stays together."  What ever your core beliefs are, share them with your family, attend church together, study the scriptures together, or just discuss your goals and aspirations together.

Here are some fun ideas of activities that families can do together: Play box games- there are plenty that are designed for groups Summer games, especially those that include water, are a lot of fun ( water balloon fights, slip and slide, mud puddle football, etc.) Drive-in movies (if you can still find one) Fishing, hiking, spelunking, bird watching, picnics, camp-outs, etc. Reading good books together and letting everyone have their turn to read out loud Baking cookies, making mini pizzas, anything where everyone can do their own thing and be creative Send your ideas for Family Entertainment to: camile@myldslifestyle.com
